Loire valley property
The Loire Valley, composed of the Maine et Loire region and the Centre region, does not need too much introduction. It is one of the main Tourist regions of France, and it is of course famous for the Renaissance style Chateaux, the Vineyards and particularly in the Saumur region – Horses! The town is home to the French Cavalry and the Cadre Noir, also the Ecole Nationale D’Equitation (The National School of Equitation). An excellent area for the Horse Lover.
Even in Winter the Loire Valley area is still a very active region, the University towns of Tours and Angers, as well as the large towns of Cholet and Le Mans (24 hr car and Motorbike races) ensure that there is plenty for all the family to do, all year round! Saumur is situated just about in the middle of all 4 towns on the Loire River itself.
Being just 1hr 20 mins from Paris by TGV and 3 hrs to the main ports in Normandy, the Loire is very accessible and enjoys a temperate climate known locally as ‘Le Douceur Angevine’ : the Gentle Anjou climate.
